Aims and objectives

This unit of study aims to develop your ability to use software tools to solve engineering problems, and prepare computer models of parts, assemblies and documentation for manufacturing, and use Finite Elements Element analysis in design.
 
After successfully completing this unit, you should be able to:
1. Generate 3-dimensional computer models of parts and assemblies. (S1)
2. Generate engineering drawings according to engineering standards. (K5)
3. Generate mathematical models using standard software e.g. Excel, Matlab. (K2, S2)
4. Apply computer aided tools to simple engineering problems. (K4, K6, S2, A3, A6, A7)
5. Generate written/graphical reports on simple engineering problems. (K5, A2, A6, A7)
