Aims and objectives

This unit aims to provide students with a broad understanding of the frameworks, concepts and roles of corporate governance, compliance and control within the context of managing risk across the organisation. Students will also understand the methodologies, tools and techniques used for auditing and reporting as applied to risk management.

Unit Learning Outcomes (ULO)

On successful completion of this unit students will be able to:

1 Critically analyse corporate governance, accountability and compliance in relation to risk.

2 Critically analyse the operation of the Australian legislative and regulatory frameworks as they relate to compliance and risk in context.

3 Demonstrate advanced knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks and policies to an international context.

4 Demonstrate developed knowledge of codes of practice, principles and standards of compliance and risk management as appropriate to context.

5 Communicate proficiently in professional practice to a variety of audiences, function as an effective member or leader of a team.
