Aims and objectives

This unit aims at developing fundamental knowledge and skills of employing building information modelling and other digital technologies for the construction management agenda in civil infrastructure projects

On successful completion of this unit students will be able to:

ULO1Identify, associate, and utilise Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools and software in the management of infrastructure projects
ULO2Create, interpret, and integrate 3D BIM models for the construction of civil infrastructure
ULO3Use and/ or construct nD BIM frameworks/ systems for various construction management agenda in civil infrastructure works
ULO4Apply relevant BIM standards, methods, procedures and best practices for construction management of civil infrastructure projects
ULO5Comprehend and integrate construction management activities in remote working environment with internet of things, virtual and mixed reality applications
ULO6Develop and appraise the adoption and implementation of BIM and digital technologies for the construction management in civil infrastructure projects
ULO7Describe, designate and demonstrate the roles and responsibilities of using digital technologies (including BIM) in civil infrastructure construction projects
