Aims and objectives

This unit aims to introduce students to the fundamental principles and basic techniques of 2D animation and motion graphics. Students will be given the opportunity to explore various animation and motion graphics techniques using digital tools and encouraged to develop independent study, investigation and development skills.

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Use language and terminology specific to animation and motion graphics in supporting project material.
2. Demonstrate a knowledge of theoretical concepts and technical aptitude using digital tools for 2D animation and motion graphic outcomes.
3. Investigate meaning and mood through the design and motion of an animated project outcome.
4. Integrate and apply fundamental animation and motion graphics principles and techniques to develop professional fully resolved animated project outcomes.
5. Critically evaluate, plan, and research professional concepts of digital workflow for animated outcomes.
