These are nationally approved units of competency that are recognised throughout Australia
We teach you the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life threatening situations / emergencies using either basic life-support measures or cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The course also teaches you how to respond to first aid situations, manage casualties, the incident and other first aiders until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
The resuscitation techniques taught align to the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
Please Note: This course is delivered in a blended format. There is an online assessment component you must complete before attending the workshop.
The following units are delivered as a skill-set SS-EXFAID:
- Provide CPR (HLTAID001)
- Provide Basic Emergency Life Support (HLTAID002)
- Provide First Aid (HLTAID003)
Upon successful completion of these units, participants will receive a statement of attainment.
First aiders should attend training on a regular basis to refresh their first aid knowledge and skills and to confirm their competence to provide first aid. Refresher training in CPR should be undertaken annually and first aid qualifications should be renewed every three years (Safework Australia).
