Selected major: Clinical Technologies

Learn about anatomy and physiology using cutting-edge MedTech. Become a clinical physiologist, or biomedical scientist, with postgraduate study.

What is Clinical Technology? Endorsed by ANSA (Australian Neurophysiological Scientists of Australia), this highly-respected major prepares you for the future of health tech. Learn to use point-of-care, industry-standard devices to medically monitor cardiopulmonary, renal and neurophysiology systems.

Clinical Technologies shares five units with biomedical engineering, giving you lab time with students whose specific skillset complements your own knowledge of health and biology.

We’ve developed this tech-savvy curriculum with professional bodies, and we encourage you to register with our industry networks at the start of your degree, so you can build your CV while you study.

Many graduates of this major now enjoy careers as clinical physiologists, testing patients in hospital cardiac, respiratory, renal, neurophysiology, and sleep labs.

Selected major: Sports Management

Sport management is about driving excellence, building brands and creating legacies.

In our sports management major, you’ll develop the business mindset needed to run sport organisations and venues, identify risks and seize opportunities.

Develop your skills in strategic thinking and leadership, understand sport data analytics and investigate the trends changing the future of sport.

You’ll benefit from assignments and experiences based on Swinburne research with partners such as Richmond Football Club, the Australian Football League, Tennis Australia, as well as government, agencies and sport technology start-ups.

Potential careers include management, operational and marketing roles across sport and recreational facilities, sporting businesses, events, sports teams, brands, clubs and governing bodies.

The Bachelor of Health Science/Bachelor of Business double degree aims to develop a set of complementary and cross-disciplinary skills and knowledge in health and business.

You'll explore Australian and international health challenges and examine the physical, psychological and social aspects of health in a variety of settings.

You'll also gain core skills and knowledge in business, management and operations to prepare for work in modern organisations.

In this double degree, in the Health Sciences Project (HEA30001), and Industry Consulting Project (BUS30009), you’ll have the opportunity to apply your learning and work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams on an industry-linked project.
