Course description
The program is based in Melbourne and offered through the Faculty of Business and Law, with the Northeastern component taught by Northeastern academics. Students also have the option of applying to Northeastern, to take part of their program on-campus in Boston (students must also apply for U.S. student visa).
The Master of Marketing (Global Leadership Program) offers participants the opportunity to gain specialist knowledge in marketing. Marketing has become one of the most significant and powerful tools in the world of business and its study is relevant to all areas of business life. A knowledge of marketing can help individuals and business organisations understand how to use their resources to the best advantage in a changing environment.
Course structure
Students complete eight units of study from the Swinburne's Master of Marketing program and eight units of study from the Northeastern Master of Science in Leadership.
Upon successful completion of all 16 units of study (200 credit points), subject to prerequisite requirements, students will be awarded:
- Master of Marketing from Swinburne University of Technology (SUT), and a
- Master of Science in Leadership from Northeastern University (NU).

- apply coherent and advanced knowledge of marketing concepts in diverse contexts and applications using critical thinking
- apply problem solving, design and decision making methodologies to identify and provide innovative solutions to complex problems with intellectual independence
- communicate proficiently in professional practice to a variety of audiences, function as an effective member or leader of a diverse team, and use advanced tools and practices of marketing within project work
- demonstrate professionalism, integrity, ethical conduct, professional accountability and a deep awareness of professional practices in a global and sustainable context
- apply marketing fundamentals to the analysis, design and operation of a business model using appropriate marketing methods and tools, applied in a variety of contexts
- apply knowledge of research principles and methods to plan and execute a piece of research with some independence as preparation for research higher degrees
- reflect on and take responsibility for their own learning and self-management processes, and manage their own time and processes effectively by regularly reviewing performance as a means of managing continuing professional development and lifelong learning.
