Course description
International students in Australia who hold student visas are required to study full-time and on campus. Courses that are taught entirely online are only available to international students studying outside Australia or those in Australia who are not on a student visa. Online courses are not available to international students in Australia who hold a student visa.

- 4 technical units (50 credit points)
- 2 elective units (25 credit points) selected from either the elective, foundation or technical unit lists
- 1 research design or research methods unit (12.5 credit points)

Course fees
Students holding an international student visa are required to study full-time and on campus. Due to government regulations, industry-based learning (IBL) and work placement are not available to onshore international students unless it is a compulsory component of the program. Programs that are taught solely online are not available to onshore international students who hold an international student visa.

The entry requirements for Master of Engineering (Advanced Manufacturing Technology) or Master of Engineering Science (Advanced Manufacturing Technology) are as follows:
- a Bachelor of Engineering or a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)* (minimum four years of full time study) degree in any of the following cognate fields: Mechanical; Manufacturing; Electrical and Electronic; Robotics and/or Automation or
- a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma of Engineering degree following on from a four-year Bachelor of Engineering degree in any of the above cognate fields or
- a qualification deemed to be equivalent to any of the above
* Applicants with a recognised Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in an approved cognate field may be eligible for advanced standing.
English language requirements
Satisfactory completion of one of the following:
- Swinburne’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with overall 70%, all skills 65%
- minimum IELTS overall band of 6.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0
- TOEFL iBT (internet-based) minimum score of 79 with a reading band no less than 18 and writing band no less than 20
- Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 58 (no communicative skills less than 50)
- any other equivalent assessment of English language proficiency.
