Course description
This Master of Business Administration (Executive) course focuses on leadership and change, strategic thinking, innovation and entrepreneurship, finance and ethical practices and social responsibility to equip graduates for career satisfaction and success.
Broadly, our Master of Business Administration (Executive) course is designed to:

The Master of Business Administration (Executive) forms the third stage in a four-stage nested suite of programs consisting of:
- Graduate Certificate of Business Administration (Executive)
- Graduate Diploma of Business Administration (Executive) ^
- Master of Business Administration (Executive) or
Master of Business Administration (Executive) (Advanced) - Master of Digital Business Management/ Master of Business Administration (Executive)
International students in Australia who hold student visas are required to study full-time and on campus. Courses that are taught entirely online are only available to international students studying outside Australia or those in Australia who are not on a student visa. Online courses are not available to international students in Australia who hold a student visa.
Course structure
To qualify for the award of Master of Business Administration (Executive), students must complete 150 credit points comprising of:
- 10 Core units (125 credit points)
- 2 Elective units from the approved list (25 credit points)
Maximum Academic Credit
The maximum level of credit that can be granted for the Master of Business Administration (Executive) is 75 credit points (normally six units)

At completion of the Master of Business Administration (Executive), graduates should be able to:
- apply coherent and advanced knowledge of business concepts in diverse contexts and applications using critical thinking
- apply problem solving, design and decision making methodologies to identify and provide innovative solutions to complex problems with intellectual independence
- communicate proficiently in professional practice to a variety of audiences, function as an effective member or leader of a diverse team, and use advanced tools and practices of business within project work
- demonstrate professionalism, integrity, ethical conduct, professional accountability and a deep awareness of professional practices in a global and sustainable context
- apply business fundamentals to the analysis, design and operation of a business model using appropriate business methods and tools, applied in a variety of contexts
- apply knowledge of research principles and methods to plan and execute a piece of research with some independence
- reflect on and take responsibility for their own learning and self-management processes, and manage their own time and processes effectively by regularly reviewing performance as a means of managing continuing professional development and lifelong learning.

A recognised bachelor degree in any discipline PLUS a minimum of three (3) years equivalent full-time relevant managerial experience* or
English language requirements
Satisfactory completion of one of the following:
- Swinburne’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with overall 70%, all skills 65%
- minimum IELTS overall band of 6.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0
- TOEFL iBT (internet-based) minimum score of 79 with a reading band no less than 18 and writing band no less than 20
- Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 58 (no communicative skills less than 50)
- any other equivalent assessment of English language proficiency.
