This AWS cloud computing course involves a paid job at Amazon Web Services (AWS) working for three days per week, while studying part time two days per week to achieve this qualification. This is a unique opportunity to combine technical and hands on training with the AWS team as you help individuals and businesses maintain their computing infrastructures and applications in the Cloud.
Cloud computing is in high demand as it is an integral part of the daily operations for almost all businesses. Learning about the applications of cloud computing as well as having hands on experience will make you a valuable candidate for technology industry jobs – including at AWS as they will recruit high performers from this course.
This course is 100% online, allowing new entrants to the IT industry, those wanting to upskill or even career changers to work and study from anywhere. When you graduate, you’ll be able to exit into industry or move on to further study.

Civil Infrastructure Specialisation:
Students work on a major project aligned to their business to find digital solutions to improve the processes and efficiency within their workplace.

To qualify for the award of the Diploma of Applied Technologies students must successfully complete 100 credit points comprising
- 2 core units of study
- 6 units of study from one of the offered specialisations

- Demonstrate within a broad range of engineering or digital technology contexts the capacity to plan and manage an optimised information flow from ideation to end-of-use utilising product lifecycle management processes.
- Research, design and solve problems in engineering or digital technology applications utilising a range of emerging digital technology skills and knowledge.
- Apply a range of engineering, scientific, mathematical and statistical principles to analyse, design, optimise and commission an Industry 4.0 system solution using a range of software tools.
- Demonstrate ethical conduct, professional accountability and self-management and an awareness of social and environmental impacts of Industry 4.0 practices.

Entry requirements
- Successful completion of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or its equivalent , such as an interstate or international Year 12 qualification or
- Completion or partial completion of an approved tertiary qualification or International Equivalent (including Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, Associate Degrees and/or higher qualification).
- Applicants without a formal qualification may be considered for entry if they have significant and relevant work experience and upon completion of the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT).
- VCE Units 3 and 4: a minimum study score of 25 in any English (except EAL) or 30 in English as Alternate Language (EAL) or equivalent
- VCE Units 3 and 4: a minimum study score of 20 in any Mathematics or equivalent
- Applicants may need to attend an interview with Swinburne staff. Depending on chosen specialisation, the interview may involve selected industry partners.
