The Certificate II in Electrotechnology Studies (Pre-vocational) could be the perfect first step to working as an electrician in industry or running your own business. Commonly called a pre-apprenticeship, this course is based on hands-on projects that will help you to develop a wide range of work skills for a variety of electrical trades. As well as acting as a pathway into an apprenticeship, a course like this can help prepare you for the workforce or allow you to improve on existing skills.

This qualification is recognised by the Electrical Trades Union (ETU) and the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA). Students who successfully complete the course at Swinburne will gain a Construction Industry White Card and three units' credit towards the four-year TAFE component of the Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician course undertaken by apprentice electricians.
