This combined postgraduate course is for students who wish to enhance their knowledge and undertake continuing professional development in both the fields of civil or structural engineering and construction management.

Course Coherence and other Curriculum Features
The course aims to prepare students to contribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of engineering strategies to solve engineering challenges.
To achieve this outcome, graduates need to demonstrate breadth and depth of knowledge in their discipline and competence in analysing, synthesising, and integrating knowledge and methods from several fields of study.
The overall curriculum design approach across all the specialisations is
- To provide common units for project management and research projects
- To provide a set of units with a small amount of tailoring possible, with each unit being stand-alone allowing units to be taken in a flexible order.
Each unit focuses on developing students’ technical knowledge, technical skills and professional attributes assessed in a range of ways
- Monitoring how these assessment tasks aggregate to ensure students attain the CLOs.
The core specialisation units of study within the course have a technical focus that can be complemented with elective units to suit the needs of the individual student. Importantly, some of the technical units of study have a sustainability theme, advanced design and analysis techniques and contemporary themes in engineering
