Biography

Dr Sylvia Anne Mackie is a lecturer in research communication, working in the Office of Student Engagement, at Swinburne University of Technology. She runs the Com Lab developmental program for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) higher degree by research students and early career researchers, which offers integrated training in research communication skills. Sylvia has a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Melbourne. Her interests include scientific and technical writing, research communication pedagogies, advanced English language learning and researcher development in STEM disciplines.
