Dr Michael Olasoji is a Senior Lecturer in Nursing, previously worked at Monash University in the School of nursing and midwifery. Prior to his career in nursing Michael completed a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Biochemistry. Michael completed a Bachelor of Nursing (First Class Honours) at Monash University, Post Graduate Diploma in Mental health nursing at University of Melbourne and a PhD at RMIT University where he was awarded the Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) scholarship. Michael’s thesis was titled: “The advent of mental health nurses in Australian primary health care” which was a mixed method study. Currently Michael is a Registered Nurse with a mental health background. He has worked across settings across two major metropolitan hospitals working in community and acute in-patient unit. His research areas include but not limited to nursing scope of practice, carers of people with mental illness, physical health of mental health patients.
