Biography
Dr Watson-Bonnice specialises in femininities and women’s gender expressions. Her PhD thesis, titled "You can play with the ball, but don't get dirty": A hierarchy of heterosexual women’s gender expressions, explores the complexities around embodying various forms of femininities and provides a theoretical framework for theorising women’s gender expressions. Her research interests include femininity and women’s gender expressions; women and work, gender and sport, and gender neutral parenting.
Kythera is the co-convenor of the Australian Sociological Association Gender and Sexualities Thematic Group and Early Career Research Co-Representative for the Australian Women’s and Gender Studies Association.
