Karen is a Lecturer in Education; she is unit co-ordinator for teacher education maths units and PE units. Karen has taught on a range of programmes such as the Autism pathway for the Masters in Education, BA Early Childhood Studies, Bachelor of Education (Teacher Training) programme and Foundation Degrees. She has also been programme leader for Founcation Degrees in Children's Services, Early Childhood and Teaching. Previously Karen has worked as an early years and primary school teacher in Cheshire, Merseyside, and North Wales UK. She has also had the following positions: Foundation Stage Co-ordinator, PE co-ordinator, Child Protection Officer and Science Co-ordinator. She is currently working on her Ph.D looking at Space and children's cultural identitites. Karen has a Masters in Educational Psychology. Her Masters research focused upon pedagogical approaches for working with children with autism. Karen has an honours degree and her research looked at environmental education in schools.
