Biography

Dr Janet Ruffles is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science. She is trained as both a lawyer and clinical forensic psychologist, and has worked across a range of forensic mental health settings, both as a forensic psychologist and corporate lawyer. Her current work focuses on consultation, research and evaluation, and she has collaborated on a range of service evaluations across health and correctional settings, contributing research skills, and psychological and legal expertise. Her research interests include the interface between criminal justice and mental health, with particular focus on laws related to the management of mentally ill offenders.
