Biography

Dr.Pan received the Ph.D. degree in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent System at Southeast University, China. From 2004 to 2006, he was a Research Associate with the Center for Multimedia Signal Processing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He joined Southeast University, China in 2007 and then became an Associate Professor in 2009. From 2010 to 2011, he was a Visiting Scholar with Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of California, San Diego (UCSD). From 2013 to 2018, he had worked at University of Copenhagen and University of Oslo as Research Fellow. He had been visiting Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, The University of Melbourne during 2018-2019. He has joined Swinburne University of Technology since 2020.

Dr Pan’s research interests include Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Medical Image Analysis, Robotic/Machine Vision, and Multimedia Signal Processing. His work won the Best Paper Award at the 19th Scandinavian Conference on Image Analysis (SCIA 2015). One of his conference papers was selected as the top 10% papers at the 4th International Conference on Pattern Recognition Applications and Methods (ICPRAM 2015).
