Professor Georgie Kelly

Georgie joined us from Deakin University where she led the Deakin Graduate Research Academy, with responsibility for 2,000 Higher Degree Research (HDR) students. She oversaw the growth of Deakin’s HDR internship program, international HDR partnerships and was responsible for every aspect of Deakin’s HDR program. She made a significant contribution to the development of a number of successful joint PhD programs with European universities as well as the award-winning Deakin-India Research Initiative.
Georgie commenced her career at Deakin University as a researcher in the School of Engineering and Institute for Frontier Materials, and went on to build and lead collaborative teams of researchers and HDR students tackling industry-focussed problems. She transitioned to roles delivering university‑wide researcher development programs including HDR student and supervisor training, and then later, to the development of strategic international partnerships with a focus on collaborative HDR programs.
Georgie has extensive experience in academic leadership roles and has a deep knowledge of the sector.
