Anat is the Course Director of the Bachelor of Education (Secondary) and Master of Teaching (Secondary) at Swinburne’s Department of Education. Her research and teaching is informed by an interest in personal and professional growth, metacognition and the enhancement of individual and collective consciousness and wellbeing. Her research draws on educational, sociological and psychological disciplines. Her most recent project examined pre-service teachers' coping on professional placement and she continues to research interventions that support positive coping in WIL programs. In other projects, Anat examined teachers’ needs and experience with the introduction of adaptive technologies; pre-service teachers’ anxiety and hope associated with numeracy testing; and the co-design of school-university partnership. Her PhD explored metacognition and students’ coping with second language writing and she regularly delivers professional development workshops for second language teachers. Prior to working at Swinburne, Anat held leadership positions in Independent Victorian secondary schools and with the VCAA. She brings to her research work a deep understanding and knowledge of the teaching practice.
