Biography
Dr Anat Wilson is a Lecturer in the Department of Education at Swinburne University of Technology. Her current research utilises qualitative methodologies to study three main areas: pre-service teachers’ coping with placement; the nature of metacognition and consciousness in education, and second language teaching and learning. Her doctoral thesis examined students’ metacognition and coping with second language writing, from which these research dimensions have emerged. She has recently led a qualitative evaluation for a national body and regularly delivers professional development workshops for languages teachers. Anat has held leadership positions in secondary and tertiary settings and with the VCAA. She brings to her research work a breadth of understanding of the teaching profession.
