 Overview

The program is designed to bring you a level of familiarity of the workings and politics of the European Union, European nations in their dealings with the European Union. In addition to expanding your knowledge on the politics of Europe, you will also have the opportunity to visit some of the tourist and cultural highlights of this region of Italy, including Venice, Trieste and the mountains of northern Italy.

Benefits of the study tour

By attending this class environment setting in Italy, you will acquire an appreciation of the issues facing and emanating from the European Union. You’ll become familiar with global issues and the European Union’s approach to matters such as climate change, migration, refugee processing and absorption. You will have the opportunity to explore and examine issues such as Brexit, far right politics in Europe and the ongoing migration crisis in great detail. 

Study tour itinerary

A typical day will include 4 hours of class time, with the remainder of the day free to explore the town of Conegliano and the outskirts of the city, as far as the grand canals of Venice.

Also included will be excursions to outlying cities such as Trieste, a visit to a grand 18th century castle and a possible visit to a glass making factory in Venice

Program cost includes:

  • Accommodation
  • 2 meals per day (breakfast and lunch)
