
MTC Indigenous Study Tour
The Moondani Toombadool Centre is facilitating an international ‘On-Country’ experience, taking eligible Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander students to Aotearoa - New Zealand to engage with Māori Culture and the World Indigenous Peoples Conference on Education (WIPCE).

Overview
The focus of this study tour is to connect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with Indigenous communities outside of Australia, as a means of deepening their understanding of their connections with First Nations People on a global scale. The study tour will empower students to actively partake in professional development, networking opportunities, leadership development, and cultural engagement. Students will also visit local Māori communities, visit culturally relevant sites, and partake in exciting developmental activities that encourage growth in leadership, teamwork, and communication abilities.
Highlights / tentative itinerary
This program will include highlights such as:
- attending the World Indigenous Peoples Conference on Education (WIPCE)
- cultural engagement with local Māori communities
- visits to significant Māori cultural sites
- professional and leadership development activities
- inter-cultural networking opportunities.

Eligibility
To qualify for this program, you must:
- Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander student applicants only
- Student must be in a higher education course, with at least one free elective or the ability to overload if no electives are available
