Recently the Beijing IP Court announced its final judgement for the copyright dispute between the copyright owner of the movie Chronicles of the Ghostly Tribe and the author of the fiction Ghost Blowing Lamp on which the movie based. The judgement caused a wide discussion about the relationship between the right of integrity and the right of derivative work. To what extend should authors have the right to control the changes of their works? Should the author of the original work have the right to restrict the author’s artistic creation of the derivative work?
