The Swinburne Wellbeing Clinic for Older Adults presents an exciting series of seminars featuring guest presenters who are experts in the field of mental health and ageing to cover issues relating to late life conditions and treatments.

In the next seminar, A/Prof Tanya Davison, Chief Investigator for The Pearl Project, will present a lecture titled "The Pearl Project: Helping older adults adjust to residential aged care settings"

Abstract
This talk will outline The PEARL Project: a NHMRC Project Grant that evaluates a novel intervention designed to assist newly admitted aged care residents adjust to their new environment, through the introduction of tailored strategies to meet their psychological needs. 

A‌bout the presenter
Associate Professor Tanya Davison is a researcher with a background in clinical psychology who is based at the Health & Ageing Research Group in the School of Health Sciences at Swinburne University of Technology. Tanya has established expertise in the mental health and wellbeing of older adults, and a strong interest in developing evidence-based approaches to improve the way in which older adults are cared for within the aged care sector. 

In addition to her role at Swinburne University of Technology, Tanya leads the Donor Research Team at the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, which develops strategies to maintain the health and wellbeing of blood donors and ensure a continued blood supply for Australian patients.
