Attention Junior Scientists! Get ready for three days filled with hands-on holiday science for curious kids from 4YO Kinder to Year 8.

The PrimeSCI! Team is excited to offer workshops covering Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Sciences! Plus Mathematics presented by our friends at Imparo.

Science Workshops

What do we dig up from the Earth? Identify samples from Australian mines, discover how we separate them out and work out the uses of these minerals in our everyday lives. Create your own beautiful salt extraction experiment to take home. (1hr)

Explore layers within the Earth, tectonic plate movement and the causes of earthquakes, volcanoes and tsunamis. Take part in hands-on activities that teach about Earth’s mantle layer and its movement. (1hr)

Push, pull, friction and gravity! Explore forces and motion through familiar sports equipment using scientific language to describe familiar experiences and observations. (1hr)

Explore gravity, friction, magnetism and static electricity in this hour of hands-on physics fun. (1hr)

Learn to name bones in the body, explore what makes bones strong and identify real skeletons of animals. Mr Bones will be delighted to welcome you into his science lab! (1hr)

Can you design and build a boat that won’t sink? Learn about the construction of watercraft, then put your construction to the test in this engineering challenge. (1hr)

Use your creativity to tackle engineering challenges while exploring important concepts about structures big and small. Together we will bridge the gap between theory and the real world. (1hr)

Learn how some games can be solved using maths and have fun along the way. You will learn some strategies that you can use to win games with friends and family. (1hr)
