Swinburne's Student Essentials Program runs over three days. Choose to attend in-person or join workshops online.

Each session provides you with practical resources and helps you understand the support services available to you as a Swinburne student.

You’ll also pick up a few life hacks – like how to stay motivated – and leave with a booster shot of confidence.

Is this right for me?

The Student Essentials Program is designed for students starting an undergraduate (bachelor) degree for the first time – whether you're new to university or returning to study after a break.

How do I get involved?

Browse the workshop schedule then use the form on this page to register your attendance. Registration is essential if you plan to attend on-campus sessions.

You can attend as many sessions as you like.

Monday 13 February, Day 1: Welcome

Join us on-campus at Level 3, Advanced Manufacturing and Design Centre (AMDC) or online via Microsoft Teams.

Don't forget to register.

Meet other new students and enjoy a complimentary breakfast supplied by 99 Pancakes. Join us on Level 3, Advanced Manufacturing and Design Centre, Hawthorn campus.

We will welcome you to the program, give essential information about starting at university and explain the support services available at Swinburne both on campus and online. 

As Australia’s first Adobe Creative Campus, Swinburne offers students access to a vast range of creative tools and programs. Learn about Swinburne’s Adobe Hub and how to find your people at uni.

Meet the Learning and Academic Skills team to find out how you can improve your writing skills, get help with assignments, and make the transition to uni a smooth and successful one. 

The team from Student Life will introduce you to Swinburne’s clubs and sports, leadership and volunteering opportunities. 

Tips and info for mature-age students, and a chance to ask questions that relate to your situation.
