Overview

This study tour is designed by Engineers without Borders (EWB) for our engineering students to undertake community based projects and workshops to learn about appropriate technology and development within a Malaysian context and gain an understanding of the culture and environment in Sarawak.

Students will develop their skills and/or attitudes toward leadership, internationalisation, a global perspective, ethics, social responsibility, and gain an understanding of the culture and environment of one of our South-East Asian neighbours.

This study program will contribute to the professional experience required by Swinburne’s undergraduate engineering honours degree, as required by Engineers Australia (Australia’s professional engineering accreditor). Students will interact with the Sarawak based students to create a deeper understanding about Malaysian culture.

The New Colombo Plan Scholarship and OS-HELP loans are available (subject to eligibility).
