The Designing Social Innovation tour is for students with a commitment to studying social innovation and enterprise. This New Colombo Plan-funded study tour is delivered by Swinburne’s School of Design, IIT Madras Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and the Centre for Social Initiative and Management.
The tour offers an unparalleled opportunity to study and experience first-hand social enterprise and social development issues in India. Combining lectures, field visits and other activities, the program is ideal for students considering a career in related areas and with an interest in sustainable development.
The program integrates cultural events and day trips to local sites (such as Mahabalipuram and Pondicherry) and includes the opportunity for a free weekend to travel to another location (such as Kerala). The program also includes pre- and post-departure lectures and assessments, and is worth 12.5 credit points.
The New Colombo Plan Scholarship is available. Scholarship winners will be selected based on an interview.
