Intern in one of the powerhouse cities of the United States — Los Angeles or New York. The Academic Internship Council (AIC) will source you an internship that is tailored to your studies and provide support with logistics such as housing and visas.

Choose between two of the United States’ most iconic cities: 

  • Los Angeles (LA) is a Californian gem blessed with year-round sunshine, the Pacific Ocean to the west and rugged mountains to the east.
  • New York CIty (NYC) is the creative, cultural hub of New York and is a fast-paced business centre that is the USA’s epicenter of the arts.

  • Academic credit: Professional Internship Unit 25CP or other course-related experiential units
  • Cost: LA: A$8,192 / NYC: A$9,126

*Note: some study areas are difficult to source internships in and internships are not guaranteed. AIC can provide guidance and suggest other locations if necessary. Difficult study areas include:

  • LA: law, arts, engineering, aviation, architecture, ICT, science, health
  • NYC: FTV, games, engineering, aviation, science, health

Eligible students

Only undergraduate on-campus students that have completed 150CP (12 units) and have an average weighted mark of at least 60% are eligible for USA internships for summer 2020. Eligibility requirements may differ depending on the academic unit you utilise for your internship.
