Spend the first week of the program undertaking language lessons and cultural activities, before interning in an engineering organisation for five weeks.

  • Study areas: Engineering: Architectural, Civil, Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical, Product Design, Robotics and Mechatronics
  • Location: Zhuhai, China
  • Dates: 21 June – 1 August 2020
  • Duration: 6 weeks (1 week immersion program + 5 week internship)
  • Academic credit: Professional Experience in Engineering OR Professional Internship Unit 12.5CP
  • Cost: A$4,135
  • Funding: 6 x A$2,000 Australian Government New Colombo Plan Grants available to Australian students (with no citizenship or residency rights to China), who have not previously received an NCP short-term grant

Application deadline

Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis, with places (and scholarship if applicable) allocated to the first students to complete a full application and meet eligibility criteria.

  • Applications open: 1 November 2019
  • Final deadline for applications: TBC 31 March 2020 (if places remaining) 

Eligible students

Specific eligibility requirements depend on the academic unit being utilised, but all students must meet the minimum eligibility criteria below:

  • Be studying an undergraduate engineering course
  • Completed at least 100CP (8 units)
  • Have an average weighted mark of at least 50%
  • Have available space in your course for the applicable academic unit (domestic students may be able overload their degree)
