As a Swinburne student, you have free access to a range of software, digital tools and applications to assist with your studies. There are over 70 software applications available for download, as well as home license provisions for select applications.

To make it easy, most software and applications are accessible from one digital location called Apps on Demand. You can access Apps on Demand through a digital software centre called Citrix Workspace or via your chosen web browser using your Swinburne student login.

The Citrix Workspace application is automatically installed on all computers in Swinburne student labs. How you access and use both Citrix Workspace and Apps on Demand will depend on your computer operating system and your point of access. See the tabs below for detailed instructions on how to navigate and use the Citrix Workspace application and learn how access your OneDrive file directory.

Follow these steps to use Apps on Demand with Citrix Workspace.

Step 1

Login to the PC with your Swinburne Username and Password

Step 2

Once logged in, Citrix Workspace and Citrix Files will auto launch.

Step 3

Once Citrix Workspace and Citrix Files has launched, click on the icon of the application you wish to use and wait for it to load.

Step 4

To open a file from your OneDrive for Business storage, click on the File menu and navigate to the Open menu item.

Step 5

Click on the dropdown menu and click on the ShareFile (S:) icon.

Step 6

Open the Office 365 folder. 

Step 7

Open the OneDrive for Business folder to view your OneDrive for Business files.

Follow these steps to use Citrix files in student labs that have Windows operating system computers.

Step 1

Log in to the PC with your Swinburne username and password.

Step 2

Click on the File Explorer icon in the Taskbar.

Step 3

Click on the This PC icon in the Navigation pane.

Step 4

Double click on the S Drive (OneDrive for Business) icon to access your OneDrive for Business files.

Follow these steps to install Citrix Workspace on your own Windows PC.

Step 1

Open your preferred web browser and download Citrix Workspace.

Download Link: https://www.citrix.com.au/downloads/workspace-app/windows/workspace-app-for-windows-latest.html

Step 2

When prompted, click on the Run button

Step 3

Click on the Yes button

Step 4

Click on the Start button

Step 5

Read and accept the license agreement, then click the Install button to begin the installation

Step 6

Once the installation has completed, click the Finish button

Step 7

You will need to restart your PC to complete the installation of Citrix Workspace

Click the Yes button to restart your PC

Step 8

Once your PC has restarted and you have logged back in, click on the Start Menu, then on the Citrix Workspace Application

Step 9

When prompted, enter the following URL into the space provided, then click the Add button:

https://swinburne.cloud.com/ 

Please note: This is a one time only process that will setup your connection to Apps on Demand

Step 10

Enter your Username (swin\username) and Password into the fields provided and click the Add button

Step 11

Congratulations!

You have now connected to Apps on Demand

Follow these steps to install Citrix Workspace on your own Mac.

Step 1

Open your preferred web browser and download Citrix Workspace.

Download Citrix for Mac

Step 2

Open your Downloads folder and open the CitrixWorkspaceApp.dmg file.

Step 3

Double click on the Install Citrix Workspace file.

Step 4

Click the Continue button.

Step 5

Enter your Administrator password and click the Install Software button.

Follow the on-screen instructions to install Citrix Workspace.

Step 6

Citrix Workspace will install into your Applications folder.

Double click on Citrix Workspace to open the application.

Step 7

When prompted, enter the following URL into the space provided, then click the Add button:

https://swinburne.cloud.com/

Note: This is a one time only process that will setup your connection to Apps on Demand.

Step 8

Enter your Username (swin\username) and Password into the fields provided and click the Log In button.

Step 9

Congratulations!

You have now connected to Apps on Demand.
