Here at Wellbeing, we know that your uni years will be some of the best (possibly the very best!) years of your life. But we also know they pose a set of unique and very real challenges – whether it’s stuff that goes down while you’re studying or some old baggage that’s come along for the ride. And that’s why we want to start a conversation – a no holds barred one – about mental health. Because talking about it is empowering. It helps us make sense of our own experiences and it helps others feel less alone.

That’s why we created The Things I’ve Thought – a podcast series that explores how our minds sometimes try to sabotage us, why it happens, and what to do if yours does. In it, we examine substance abuse, depression, homelessness, domestic abuse, anxiety and eating disorders in a real and relatable way. Expect to hear stories of struggles, the silly things we do, and recovery.

If any of the stories trigger something for you, help is close by.

If you’re in urgent need of assistance, contact Triple 0, Lifeline on 131 114, or the Suicide Help Line on 1300 651 251.

You can also access a team of mental health clinicians, psychiatrists and clinical psychologists. Call 9214 8483 to learn more and book a free appointment.

There’s also an after-hours crisis phone service that Swinburne run that is available every day of the year, including weekends and public holidays, 5pm to 9am. Call 1300 854 144 or SMS 0488 884 145.
