Help! Where can i...
You’ve got an important decision to make. It can seem daunting. We get it – and we want to make it not only easier for you, but exciting too. This is your future, after all.
Keep an eye out for our upcoming Info Evenings in November or if you need to speak to someone sooner, you can contact us.
VTAC applications are open from 9am on 6 August and close at 5pm on 27 September. While it might seem like ages, it’s a good idea to get it sorted early. For one, it means one less thing to worry about. You can focus on getting ready for your VCE exams knowing your plans for next year are already firmly in place.
Another incentive to not leave it to the last minute? The later you leave it, the higher the fee you’ll have to pay. While preferences for some courses will be accepted by VTAC until early December, you’ll pay up to $100 more. (That’s a lot of coffees…)
You submit your preferences through the VTAC website.
The good news is, you don’t have to! Just put your chosen Swinburne course or courses at the top of your preference list for the best chance of receiving an offer (and potentially, the Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship) from us.
Here’s how it works – when you apply through VTAC, we automatically assess you for the Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship. So if your ATAR is 95 or higher, and you receive an offer from us, you’ll also be offered the scholarship at the same time. Win!
Other than this, there’s a bunch more scholarships that current Swinburne students have access to. Why not explore your options?
If life has thrown you some curveballs, we’d like to help you catch them. Swinburne participates in the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS), which grants special consideration for things like financial circumstances, health, location and other factors. You have to apply for it separately through VTAC and applications open at 9am on the 6 August and close at 5pm on 12 October. Find out more and check how it could make a difference to you with our handy SEAS calculator.
Free TAFE for Priority Courses is a Victorian Government initiative that will pay a student’s tuition fees, if eligible, to study one of 30 non-apprenticeship courses and 18 apprenticeship pathway courses from 1 January in 2019.
You may be eligible if you are under 20 years old, or if you are enrolling in a course at a higher level than you have completed before.
