Architecture
Be the architect who creates the buildings we need
At Swinburne, we imagine how things could be better, then make them so. We imagine a world that’s carbon-free. We imagine a world that creates more energy than it consumes, a world that promotes a healthy lifestyle and enhances biodiversity. We believe in the promise of tomorrow.
In our architecture courses, you’ll ask provocative questions in order to enhance the way we live.
Create socially and environmentally responsive designs which simulate and incorporate environmental phenomena. Learn how to create spaces that delight and engage with their feel, look, sound and even smell.
Throw yourself into our cutting-edge studios. Push through industry challenges. Immerse yourself in cross-disciplinary briefs. Analyse, critique, and debate. Celebrate change as you would a turn in season. And above all, stay curious.
Our programs take a whole-of-practice approach, preparing you for employment and business. You’ll develop exceptional design skills and gain an edge with digital workflow.
Broaden your opportunities by integrating other areas of design into your degree. Whether it be communication design, industrial design, sustainability or management, our bespoke learning model lets you design your own degree to make it one-of-a-kind.
Keep advancing with one of our postgraduate courses, including Australia’s first joint Master of Architecture and Urban Design.

I learned quickly and outside my comfort zone. The opportunity to travel to New Zealand for a class project showed the benefits of real life architecture and gave me a sense of satisfaction. The workshops and supportive staff helped me turn my ideas into reality.
