Using data as the driver for urban renewal
In collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Senseable City Lab (SCL), Swinburne’s Smart Cities Research Institute (SCRI) ran a workshop for Master and PhD students: ‘Reimagining Urban Infrastructure’. Groups analysed data in order to develop solutions which explored urban biodiversity monitoring systems, gamified community participation approaches, and footpath energy production powering LED ‘light shows’ that celebrate the community’s level of physical activity.
