Master of Corporate Governance
Course Director, Helen Bird and KPMG Australia’s, Sally Freeman talk about Swinburne’s Master of Corporate Governance.
Who you are
You are a director, senior executive or a mid-level manager seeking to move into executive management. You could also be a company secretary or a person working in audit, compliance, risk management, corporate strategy and/or corporate governance advisory. You may work for, or in relation to a listed or unlisted company, private company, non-profit organisation or government enterprise and see postgraduate study as your next step towards reaching your career goals.
Where it can take you
The course will test your practical legal and financial knowledge, and give you the opportunity to take on real-life social and ethical challenges. Crucially, you will develop the ability to confidently initiate and make decisions that are fair, transparent and accountable.
Ultimately, these qualities will help you define your career in corporate governance as a board member, company secretary, senior executive or governance professional including as a compliance consultant, strategy specialist, risk manager and/or internal/external auditor.
The Master of Corporate Governance provides a comprehensive view of the system of checks and balances that ensure that corporate actors exercise their powers legitimately and responsibly... Corporate governance is a dynamic area that interacts with the social, digital and business model landscape in which it is placed.
