Professor Aleksandar Subic
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Development)
Professor Aleksandar Subic currently holds the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Development) at Swinburne University of Technology. Prior to this appointment, Professor Subic was the Dean of Engineering and the Head of School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at RMIT University. He is internationally recognised for his research in engineering design and advanced manufacturing, having led numerous global R&D projects in collaboration with industry leading to important translational research outcomes and impact.
Professor Subic held positions on the Prime Minister's Industry 4.0 Taskforce, the Australian Advanced Manufacturing Council Leaders Group, Deputy Chair of the National Aerospace and Aviation Industries Association, Director of Oceania Cybersecurity Centre, Director of SAE-A and on the Executive Committee of the Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC). He served on the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) National Assessment Committee for Engineering and Environmental Sciences and on the research advisory panels of the Defence Materials Technology Centre and the European Engineering Research Council.
Professor Subic is an honorary Professor of Tsinghua University, Tianjin University and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia (IEAust), Fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and Fellow of the International Energy Federation (IEF).
