Web Style Guide

Style Requirements

Usability tests have shown that the single greatest impediment to users of the Swinburne Web Site is the lack of consistent design elements.

The purpose of this style guide is to define standards and provide templates in relation to material published on Swinburne's web site. It is also intended to act as a reference tool for publishers in relation to web design in general.

What do I need to include in my web pages?

Publishers must use the Swinburne Templates provided in order to comply with Swinburne Web Style Requirements. More information about these templates can be found under out Swinburne Templates section and in the help section within the Administration Area.

These templates generally consist of a top navigation, banner and a left navigation controlled via an Administration Area.

Templates have been created for all management units in order to make it easy for web publishers to comply with the University's style guide. Templates can be downloaded by logging into the Administration Area

This style guide outlines the manner by which the above mentioned items are to be included in web pages.
