Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Describe the concepts and functions of management using location-based planning and control methods and comparison with activity-based approaches
  • Apply relevant principles and theories for location-based planning and control, including lean approaches to construction management
  • Use appropriate tools and techniques for location-based planning and control
  • Appreciate the role of digital modelling in providing source data for planning, control and visualization in 5D environments
  • Formulate and/ or specify suitable strategies, methods and tools/ techniques for managing in the project-based engineering industries
  • Plan and present a group proposal for the management of a complex project using location-based methods
