Though still quite common in Australia, smoking is a leading cause of health problems and premature death. Numerous health risks have been associated with smoking, including lung cancer and diabetes. These risks, furthermore, can also be passed to others through passive smoking. For detailed information on health problems that have been linked to smoking, as well as advice about quitting, please visit www.quit.org.au or phone 13 78 48.

Speaking with a counsellor or another health professional can also help you ascertain what may contribute to your smoking addiction, and develop strategies to help you quit smoking successfully.
