Awarded to an international student of exceptional research potential to undertake a higher degree by research.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Eligibility / selection criteria
Hold a bachelor’s degree with first-class honours or equivalent
- Enrolled as a full-time student
- Ineligible for the Commonwealth’s Research Training Scheme
- Does not hold a research doctorate or equivalent
- Has not previously held a postgraduate research scholarship
- Must not be receiving an equivalent award, scholarship (excluding an International Postgraduate Research Scholarship) or salary providing a benefit greater than 75% of the stipend.

- Annual stipend of $25,849 (2015 rate)
- Overseas Student Health Cover
- Tuition
- Relocation allowance up to $1,455
- Thesis allowance up to $840
