Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)


Eligibility / selection criteria

Hold a bachelor’s degree with first-class honours or equivalent

  • Enrolled as a full-time student
  • Ineligible for the Commonwealth’s Research Training Scheme
  • Does not hold a research doctorate or equivalent
  • Has not previously held a postgraduate research scholarship
  • Must not be receiving an equivalent award, scholarship (excluding an International Postgraduate Research Scholarship) or salary providing a benefit greater than 75% of the stipend.

  • Annual stipend of $25,849 (2015 rate)
  • Overseas Student Health Cover
  • Tuition
  • Relocation allowance up to $1,455
  • Thesis allowance up to $840
