Overview

This unit presents entrepreneurship as a viable career path for a designer. Creating design outcomes that are of benefit to individuals and society are key aims of this unit. How to identify novel business and entrepreneurial opportunities, and how to develop strategic and economic knowledge to pursue these opportunities is taught. Students will be encouraged to develop professional networks and partnerships, build key linkages with industry, and can acquire advanced technological skills. Students may be involved in workshops, seminars, the Bureau or the Venture Cup to support and develop their major project – a professional quality design outcome.
