Developing a Strategic BIM Use
Overview
In this Unit the student will identify a BIM Use in a workplace that is strategically relevant and demonstrate the workplace’s capacity to execute it in the immediate future on projects. Students will demonstrate a high degree of detail and rigour in the approach to the execution being created. Students will be required to recommend best fit software across multiple criteria. Interoperability between software and process, and the various stakeholder roles and responsibilities are also identified. The knowledge will be used to engage with all stakeholders to promote inclusion of the BIM Use in the short-term future.

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Determine a strategic BIM Use by identifying the value add to the workplace.
- Identify the capability requirements within the workplace for successful BIM application.
- Identify the external project stakeholders involved in the BIM Use and their roles and responsibilities and exchange requirements.
- Specify the modelling detail and level of information required according to the stages of a project to implement the BIM Use.
