Held at Swinburne’s Croydon campus on 28 August, the WorldSkills Melbourne East Regionals featured five competing teams showcasing their skills across five trades.

I chose Swinburne because I heard it was a good trade school. The teachers are very helpful and kind. They’re willing to spend their time with me after hours on tasks that I need extra help with.

Course description

The Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying provides a trade outcome in bricklaying, covering work in residential and commercial applications.

Course structure

Delivery of this course will be a mixture of workplace assessment, face-to-face contact and class attendance. To achieve this qualification, students must demonstrate competency in a total of 27 units of competency, including 21 core units and six elective units.
