Swinburne University of Technology is one of the few dual sector institutions that offer both TAFE courses and Higher Education courses. Below is a list of the range of courses that we offer.

• Faculties and Schools Gateway to the websites for our four (4) TAFE Schools and six (6) Higher Education Faculties (Higher Education – undergraduate & postgraduate)
• Pathways Swinburne is able to provide students with a credit transfer system known as Pathways. If students are interested in continuing their formal education, the Swinburne Pathways program will ensure that students gain the maximum benefit from their previous studies. Whether students come from Swinburne TAFE or another TAFE institute, credit transfer Pathways are in place to help students enter the right course at the appropriate level.
• Scholarships A wide variety of scholarships are available to prospective and current University and TAFE students recognising excellence in academic achievement, community service, financial hardship, disabilities or the need to relocate to study from regional areas.
• First Stop First Stop is a free service that helps young people make decisions about further education, training and employment options.

• VTAC (Victoria Tertiary Admission Centre) For our February intake each year, all of Swinburne’s undergraduate courses require an application through VTAC. This also applies to most full time higher level TAFE courses. Individual course outlines will indicate how you can apply for the course – either through VTAC or a direct application to Swinburne.
• VTAC Publications A VTAC publication to help mature aged students returning to study or prospective students unfamiliar with the Australian education system.
• TAFE Courses Directory The TAFE Courses Directory provides an up-to-date listing of TAFE courses on offer across Victoria, as well as important information about training providers.
• Open Universities Australia Open Universities Australia is owned by seven leading universities and is the country’s fastest growing online higher education service. Over 110, 000 people have already studied with us since we began in 1993. You can choose to study from over 100 subject areas and graduate with qualifications from 15 academic providers.
