What is AHEGS?
AHEGS was introduced to Swinburne in August 2011 and is a Commonwealth initiative to make Australian qualifications recognised and renowned throughout the world. The Graduation Statement is a document that describes higher education qualifications in an easily understood way. It describes the award, the awarding institution and the Australian Higher Education system providing potential employers and other institutions a greater understanding of the achievements of the graduate.
Who gets an AHEGS?
An AHEGS document is only available to all graduating Higher Education award students. This includes Bachelors Degrees, Double Degrees, Associate Degrees, Masters Degrees, Graduate Certificates, Graduate Diplomas and Doctoral Degrees (please note that this is not an exhaustive list and may change).
Please Note: AHEGS documents will only be available for graduating students from August 2011 onwards. You will not be able to request an AHEGS document for a ceremony prior to August 2011.
When do I get an AHEGS?
AHEGS documents are presented to Higher Education students along with their testamur and academic transcript when they graduate (whether they attend a graduation ceremony or receive their documents in absentia). AHEGS documents will not be presented before a graduation ceremony.
How do I obtain a replacement AHEGS?
There will be a charge associated with reproducing replacement AHEGS documents. At this moment in time, the fees are still being determined by the University. To ensure that you are aware of the latest fee, please check the Swinburne University Policies and Procedures website regularly for more information.
