Ceremonies are attended by:

As a souvenir of your special day, a variety of graduation memorabilia will be available for purchase.

Guests will require a ticket for entry to the graduation ceremony. We recommend that children under 10 years do not attend as they may become restless/bored. Children below 3 years who do not require their own seat do not need a ticket.

Graduation Ceremonies Schedule

The graduation schedule is correct at time of publication and may be subject to change. It is not recommended that you arrange flights or make other preparations until you receive confirmation of your eligibility to graduate.


All 2012 ceremonies are held at the Melbourne Convention Centre.

Testamurs will be mailed two weeks after the conferral date.

The Melbourne Convention Centre is well serviced by several types of public transport.

By Train: Southern Cross station is a 15-20 minute walk from the venue.

By Tram: All trams are an approximately 5-10 minute walk from the venue.

  • Route 96 - St Kilda to East Brunswick
  • Route 109 - Port Melbourne to Box Hill
  • Route 112 - West Preston to St Kilda

Please note, once you arrive at the venue, it can take 5-10 minutes to make your way to registration on the second floor.

Car Parking

There are three car parks available for visitors at the venue.

The least expensive is at the South Wharf Retail Car Park, and is a 10 minute walk from the venue. Parking in this area can cost $16-$20 per vehicle (for 3-5 hours, increasing for longer time periods).

Parking in the Melbourne Convention Centre car park can cost around $32 per vehicle, and is a 3-5 minute walk from the venue.

Accommodation

If your guests would like to stay within close proximity to the venue, there are a number of accommodation options available.


Ticketing Information

Guest tickets for all December graduation ceremonies is now open for sale.

Tickets are AUD $33 each.

Things to be mindful of:

  • Seating is not allocated
  • Tickets are non refundable
  • Tickets are not available for sale at the door
  • Entry to the venue will not be permitted without a ticket
  • There are no free tickets
  • Students graduating do not need a ticket
  • Children below 3 years who do not require their own seat do not need a ticket
  • We recommend that children under 10 years do not attend as they may become restless/bored

Academic Regalia and appropriate dress

Bookings for academic regalia for the graduation ceremonies have now closed.

Students who have not booked and paid for academic regalia will receive their testamur in the first week of February 2012.

Your gown will be open, therefore clothing will be visible. Semi-formal or business attire is recommended. Jeans, board shorts, thongs or trainers are not suitable.
