How to Apply for Credit Transfer / Recognised Prior Learning (RPL)

Swinburne may recognise the units of study you have completed at other training organisation/s through Credit Transfer. The units must be identical or equivalent to those in the course you are enrolling in. You must supply a certified copy of the original results. No fees apply to units for which you obtain credit transfer.

Recognition of Prior Learning or RPL is an assessment process that acknowledges the skills and knowledge obtained through learning achieved from work or life experiences that is outside the formal education and training system. Through RPL you may be able to finish your course in a shorter amount of time. Evidence will be required and fees apply for RPL enrolments.

If you are an international student you will already have received advice about exemptions as part of your offer.

You can discuss applying for RPL or Credit Transfer with your Enrolling Officer.

Understanding Room Numbers

Room numbers at Swinburne University contain all the information that you need to find that particular room. Each room number is made up of two letters followed by numbers eg TD214. The letters tell you what building the room is in and the first number indicates the level in that building eg. TD214 will be in the TD building on level 2. The full room number (TD214) will appear on the door of the room when you get there so you will know you are in the right place.
