How do I pay my fees?

You have a number of ways that you can pay your fees.

Electronic payment is now Swinburne’s preferred form of payment for your course fees:
Credit card

Only Visa and Mastercard are accepted.

Minimum $20 when paying in person at student HQ.
Western Union Business Solutions
(International Students only)
Credit card payments can also be made online via Western Union Business Solutions.

Bank Cheques/Cheques Domestic and International students:
Cheques must be drawn on an Australian Bank, and in Australian Dollars.

Cheques must be made payable to:
Swinburne University of Technology

Include your Student ID when making payment.
Dishonoured cheques will attract a dishonour fee.
Telephone & Internet Banking BPAY Call your bank, credit union or building society to make a payment from your cheque, savings or credit card account. Biller code and reference number are on your Direct Deposit form.


International students

If you are a new/commencing student, go to the Offer Acceptance Form which can be accessed once Steps 1 – 6 have been completed. Refer to Step 4 - Paying Your Deposit.



What Assistance can I get to pay my fees?

Government Assistance for Fees (HELP)

You may be eligible for Government Assistance with your fees. See Government Assistance for Fees (HELP) for more information.

Financial Advisers on each campus can assist with the following:



Fee Payment Extensions (international students only)

An extension of time to pay tuition fees may be available if:

  • you are a continuing student; and
  • you can demonstrate extreme financial hardship and difficulty meeting the payment due date.


Waiver of Late Payment of Fees penalty

It may be possible to waive the penalty applied for late payment of fees, only if this has occurred due to an exceptional circumstance beyond your control (e.g. a medical emergency).



When are my fees due?

Your fees are due as per the payment due date as stipulated on your Statement of Account. Your Statement of Account can be viewed via My Financials within the 'Manage my course' section on the Current Students webpage.



How can I get a copy of my receipts?

You can request copies of previously issued receipts for payment of tuition fees only. For guidelines and to request a receipt copy, please follow the link below.
