Cathy is the Academic Development Advisor in the Faculty of Life and Social Science where she works with the Deputy Dean and Academic Development Coordinator to support staff in learning and teaching quality for the improvement of the student learning experience. Cathy has extensive experience in work integrated learning (WIL), project management, professional development online materials development, ALTC awards and submission writing, and the establishment of cross-university strategic partnerships to promote flexible delivery.

Before returning to the Faculty of Life and Social Science in August 2009 Cathy ran the Cooperative Education Office where she was responsible for the central coordination of Cooperative Education programs across the university. While working in the Cooperative Education Office she had the had the opportunity to co-mange the ALTC Discipline-Based Initiatives Program; Common Curriculum Issues Project:  Work Integrated Learning:  A national framework for initiatives to support best practice, which undertook the first large scale scoping study of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) curriculum in contemporary Australian higher education. Cathy is a co author of The WIL Report: A national scoping study, an outcome of this project which has recently been published by ALTC and can be downloaded at: http://www.altc.edu.au/carrick/go/home/pid/747

Cathy has a strong background in educational research and is currently undertaking a PhD investigating ideas surrounding strategic educational change and distributed leadership in a university context. She is an active member of WACE, ACEN, ASCILITE and HERDSA.
